The Île-de-France Region serves 12.2 million people in an area that covers 2% of France’s territory but is home to 19% of its population and nearly 31% of its GDP. It is active in key sectors such as transportation, high schools, employment, housing, health, culture, and the environment. Its budget in 2021 was €5 billion.
